Patients were observed for 1-2 hours for clinical stability, and placement was confirmed with a chest x-ray. The device was removed if there was sufficient reexpansion (<1cm of apical air on chest X-ray) and no air leak. 2001 Dec;18(6):565-8. Patients followed up every 1-2 days till day 4.
