Background: Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) has a demonstrated sensitivity of 89.8% Point of care biliary ultrasound in the emergency department (BUSED) predicts final surgical management decisions. Of note, it was a clinical change that appeared to drive the shift in decision-making by surgeons, not the imaging itself.
