Radiologists were not replaced in 2021 and aren’t on track to be replaced in 2026. Turns out that medical imaging is a little more complex than a challenging CAPTCHA. Foundation models for medical imaging could help, but will be hard to create. Greater oversight over the imaging pipeline? Shorter hours? Better jobs?
