PSMA-PET superior to MRI in phase II prostate cancer trial

PET/CT imaging with a new radiotracer (F-18 PSMA-1007) is superior to MRI prior to surgery in men with intermediate-risk and high-risk prostate cancer, according to a study published on July 1 in JAMA Oncology. Out of 150 men who participated, 134 ultimately underwent radical prostatectomies (the mean age was 62 years old).
