Endovascular Retrieval of a Damaged Transjugular Intrahepatic Portosystemic Shunt Stent Graft

Stent migration during transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) placement is a rare but documented complication (1). Previous case reports have demonstrated feasibility of endovascular stent repositioning and retrieval (1–4). This institutional review board (IRB)–approved case report presents a challenging case where an attempt to remove a malpositioned TIPS stent resulted in stent damage and migration.
