Consideration is needed for breast cancer screening in women younger than 40 years, according to research presented at the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) annual meeting. Manisha Bahl, MD, from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston presented the findings, which showed that women between the ages of 30 and 39 years have a cancer detection rate of nearly three per 1,000, with about half of screening-detected cancers being invasive.

South Korean AI software developer Lunit has completed a $193 million acquisition of breast and lung imaging software firm Volpara Health Technologies. The deal, announced late last year , is expected to boost Lunit’s capabilities in AI-driven cancer diagnostics and brings the company access to Volpara’s installed base in the U.S. market.
