Ultrasound-based nomogram predicts ALNM in breast cancer patients

Combining ultrasound features and immune-inflammatory markers could help predict axillary lymph node metastasis (ALNM) in breast cancer patients, according to research published June 24 in Academic Radiology. A team led by Fenglin Dong, MD, from the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University in Suzhou, China, highlighted the performance of its nomogram, based on contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and immune-inflammatory marker data.

German PACS vendor medavis has inked a deal to acquire Softneta’s MedDream universal zero-footprint DICOM viewer. MedDream is a web-based DICOM viewer for PACS servers for viewing, archiving, and transmitting medical images. The DICOM viewer can be integrated into any PACS system/VNA and is cleared in Europe and the U.S., medavis noted. The acquisition expands medavis’ portfolio, with the MedDream viewer becoming a key component of the company’s referral and patient portal, it said.
