ASRT report highlights enrollment growth in technologist programs

Penn. bill will change licensing rules for medical imaging personnel

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) said it supports a new Pennsylvania bill that requires licensing of medical imaging professionals, radiation therapists, radiologist assistants, and trainees. Pennsylvania Senate Bill 1281 Licensing of Medical Imaging Professionals (SB 1281) was introduced July 12.

Nuclear medicine technologists experienced the largest average compensation gains, up 20.2% ASRT's survey confirmed that all major disciplines in medical imaging and radiation therapy in the U.S. have seen wage and salary increases since 2022. Mammographers saw an increase of 11.5% from $79,323 to $88,468.
